WP: States, counties crack down on illegals - washingtonpost.com Highlights - MSNBC.com
Okay.. let me see if I understand this. These people are in this country illegally and they break the law and now they stand the chance of being deported. I see the sub heading on this where it says that some latinos cry foul. Okay, now heres the thing... if you come into this country and break the law, what else would you expect to happen? You commit a crime and you go to jail. It would work the same if you were actually a legal citizen. If you don't like our justice system... leave the country. I personallly would welcome anyone who wants to come here to make a better life for themself... but there is a process, and if you circumvent that process, you are illegal. Then if you break the law, you should be arrested. However, if you actually become a citizen, be productive, obey the laws, learn our language, etc. then you will be given the same rights as any other citizen. You would be given legal counsel if you couldn't afford it.. just like anyone else. But do the right thing.. become a citizen and learn our language. I am beginning to get a little tired of hearing "press 1 for english"
